Turning Struggle Into Gold

Founded by an underdog, built for every overlooked athlete.

Our Story

UncommonDreams was born from resilience.

Founded by Eric “Coach O” Owusu, a first-generation Ghanaian and skeleton athlete, UncommonDreams began as a fight to keep one dream alive. From homelessness in Chicago to sliding headfirst onto Olympic ice, Eric’s journey proves that overlooked athletes can rise when given the chance.

Our Mission- Leveling the Playing Field

No athlete should lose their dream because of a lack of money, access, or support. UncommonDreams Inc. exists to break those barriers by providing funding, resources, and visibility to underfunded athletes in uncommon sports.

Our Vision (The Future)

One Athlete to a Global Movement

What began as one man’s fight for Olympic ice has evolved into a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting athletes worldwide. From Ghana to the U.S. and beyond, our vision is to empower the next generation of underdogs not just to compete, but to win.

Core Values (The DNA)

Resilience

Every setback is a setup for a comeback.

Access

Resources should never limit talent.

Legacy

We’re building something bigger than one athlete — a movement for the future uncommon athletes.
